Ejari: An online registration system for tenancy contracts in Dubai, operated by the Dubai Land
Department’s regulatory arm (RERA). “Ejari” (Arabic for “My Rent”) makes rental agreements
legally recognized. Landlords or their agents must register every lease in the Ejari system to
validate the contract. Example: After signing the lease, the landlord registered it with Ejari, and I
received the Ejari certificate needed to set up my DEWA (utility) account.
